SQL Server 2005 - Architect (Jobs in Vernon Hills, IL)   Requirement id 3217 Job title Architect Job location in Vernon Hills, IL Skills required EP - Enterprise Portals 6.0/7.0, SQL Server 2005, -, Open Date 15-Mar-2011 Close Date Job type Contract Duration 99 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type Phone Screening    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Architect: EP - Enterprise Portals 6.0/7.0, SQL Server 2005, -, General: • Create new, or modify existing, model(s) as needed against monitoring metrics data warehouse on SQL Server • Work with EPM project and technical leads to develop new reports and dashboards • Create new Event Studio agents to support monitoring activities Technical: • A bachelors degree or relevant advanced degree in IT preferred. • 8 or more years of related experience in data warehouse and data mart architecting, designing, and modeling of data. • 5 or more years of proficiency with the Cognos 8 BI suite creating reports, dashboards and event studio monitoring • Proficient understanding of Wintel and Unix-based systems performance metrics, e.g.: memory & disk utilization; I/O, CPU and network bandwidth consumption • Experience with relational and multi-dimensional (OLAP) data modeling. • Knowledge of SQL, OLAP, and relational star and snowflake schemas. • Knowledge or SQL Server 2005+ and Oracle 10g+ environments, including performance metrics • Proficient in the use of SQL. • Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio). • Proven technical leadership and project management skills. Ability to execute with minimal management supervision. • Outstanding interpersonal communication and written skills, with the ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and creatively approach situations. • Ability to deal with stressful situations in a composed and constructive manner.
