Job Description Analyst: SQL Server, Testing, Performance And Tuning Diagnostics, Agile, Manual Tester Automation

Overview: This position involves working on a small test team to design, develop, and execute user acceptance testing of software developed by a third party to ensure compliance with functional specifications and requirements, application standards, and non-functional areas such as performance, security, and usability. Testing will primarily be manual, but some will be automated. The project involves custom development of a user portal and federated data query workflow system. The analyst will work with and take direction from a senior test analyst and work alongside a 10-15 person third-party development team building the system.

Duties:
. Works with a test and development team to meet team goals
. Prepares user acceptance plan
. Coordinates implementation of user acceptance testing
. Prepares test plans
. Prepares test scripts
. Performs testing
. Documents testing results
. Reports on testing results
. Works alongside user team in testing product
. Instructs users in properly testing product
. Provides feedback to analysts and developers on test results
. Re-tests product to ensure incorporation of feedback
. Works alongside development team in testing product
. Reviews unit and integration testing results for adherence to quality standards
. Reports on findings from review of unit and integration testing results

Responsibilities:
. Ensures high quality testing procedures
. Ensures high quality software release
. Ensures product is thoroughly tested . Ensures product meets user acceptance criteria
. Ensures software conforms to user requirements
. Ensures users are well informed about quality of software Required

Skills and Experience:

. Thorough knowledge of structured test methods, including both manual and automated
. Experience with testing complex user interfaces
. Experience with building detailed test plans, both functional and non-functional
. Experience leading user acceptance testing
. Experience in presenting test results and recommendations on user acceptance
. Experience developing detailed functional requirements and use cases . Experience working with agile development teams
. Excellent written and oral communications skills

Preferred Skills:
. Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
. Experience working in the education-data field
. Dot net development experience
. Experience with SQL Server programming
.
