Job Duties: • Help shepherd the creation of the Technical design documents for the 150 reports – if needed. The requirements may be enough, still confirming • Work with BAs to ensure that the BRDs coincide with Cognos technical capabilities • Technical analysis of existing Wired reports to help identify strategy and challenges of moving each report to Cognos 11 • Working with the client to help develop technical strategy for each report category • Begin architecting/developing new reports • Work with the client and BAs to develop time lines and procedures for the other developers that will be brought in • Technical oversight of entire development process- coordinate efforts of on and offshore development teams • Design and develop applications using Informatica applications • Develop complex data extracts, applications, and ad-hoc queries as requested by internal and external customers using SQL, SSIS or Informatica toolset. • Maintain the production Business Intelligence products and solutions, including resolving production issues and responding quickly to priority problems. • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues impacting extract delivery. • Work closely with Business Systems Analysts to understand requirements regarding solutions, ensure data quality and match-back to core systems transaction results. • Collaborate on the definition, development, and maintenance of standards and processes. • Drive continuous improvement and automation in BI solutions and processes. • Serve as mentoring resource for other developers. Required Skills: Strong experience (8+ years) developing in Cognos. The individual is required to be a Lead level resource capable of taking ownership and leading the development team as against an individual contributor.
