The IT PM is expected to deliver multiple Information Technology projects across the full project lifecycle, work within established PMO methodologies, maintain governance as well as manage stakeholders and vendors expectations. Examples of infrastructure projects include Wi-Fi & IT Fiber Expansions, Firewall Installation & Configuration, and PC Deployments. The candidate should have experience in managing multiple large-scale projects concurrently. The selected candidate will perform all essential Project Management functions: project leadership, communication, scoping, manage project spending, timeline, risk assessment and mitigation, overall execution and change management elements to ensure successful project delivery. Desired skills and certification: • At least 5 years PM experience with a variety of technology projects such as: o Manage security and network engineers for switch and firewall installations and configurations in an ongoing production environment o Hardware & software deployments across multiple sites for various County departments with minimal end-user impact and downtime o Server decommissions and/or upgrades with coordinated application migrations o Network expansion (wireless and/or fiber) in both new facilities and in production environments • Effective communication to key stakeholders • Excellent documentation skills required • Experience with project risk assessment and issue mitigation, project reporting, escalation • Ensure projects are tracked, managed and reported according to best practice and standards, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives of the PMO and ISD • Experience working alongside a PMO environment is desired • Familiarity with infrastructure technology • PMP Certification preferred Contractor shall provide the following services: The Project Manager will provide the following services: • Provide project management services that include but not limited to: Stakeholder analysis and communications planning, project scope & business case definition, project plan development, cost estimates, data analysis, quality control, resources planning, task definition and sequencing, milestones, status reporting, risk mitigation, project implementation, and project close out • Apply professional project management knowledge, experience and best practices to enable the project team and achieve project objectives • Maintain and drive project plans for multiple concurrent projects • Understand client business requirements and present those requirements in a statement of work/business case that is understandable to business users and IT professionals • Determine funding source(s) and accounting codes • Complete the project charter and associated project WBS • Coordinate with ISD fiscal and purchasing on procurement planning and implementation • Act as liaison between vendor/County • Track project expenses and progress • Monitor project progress against plans, facilitating issue resolution and risk mitigation • Provide weekly project status reports • At project end conduct project post mortem, documenting lessons learned This role requires 100% onsite services. There is no option to telecommute. Main work location will be in our Belmont office, but there may be a need to attend meetings at other locations, including our Redwood City office.
