CT Client Info : DOC- Department of Corrections (DOC) Description : Surveillance & Access Control Technician III IT Professional that works as part of a team; responsible for facilities-based systems, including but not limited to, surveillance, door control, building automation, and telecommunication. This work includes all aspects of planning, installation, and support of the aforementioned systems, including supporting desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment. Install, configure, maintain, and monitor multiple state-wide networks, as well as mitigating issues as they arise. Responsible for extensive system documentation creation and updates. Work is performed at the agencys nearly 200 locations, state-wide, including the agencys many secure sites, often independently. Delegation and improvisational skills, creativity, adaptability, and strong troubleshooting skills required. Day travel also required, and long days are common. Provides documentation/project tracking and management reporting. Provides tactical and strategic input on overall systems planning and related projects. Capabilities with 8 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Independently, performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. IT – Network / Infrastructure • Cable/Fiber Management. • Experience configuring, installing & troubleshooting Cicso Network Devices • Experience working with Palo Alto & ZScaler web filtering devices. • Experience configuring, installing & troubleshooting wireless networking. IT – Server Support • Install new hardware & software. • Experience troubleshooting MS Server devices. • Experience configuring, installing & troubleshooting server storage (RAID/NAS Etc.) devices. IT – Systems Engineering & Other IT Experience • Experience with network engineering. • Experience with Surveillance systems engineering. • Experience with configuring, installing & troubleshooting IP Cameras. • Experience with configuring, installing & troubleshooting VMS Software. Duration: 2-years with 2-2 year renewals Remote or on site. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidates expense. Additional details: On call rate of $2.50 an hour (On call once every 8 weeks. $2.50 per hour to carry the phone, and when a call comes in that requires work, normal rate applies.) Travel on the team is mostly in-state, day trips. The state provides vehicles out of fleet pool for qualified drivers.
