This team powers Bing.com/Maps They provide Location Services data to any team at Microsoft that needs it, in addition to external partners who utilize Bing Maps Their Process: Take data, munch it, put it into a different format, test it, put in central store, ship to providers. This Engineer with help improve the quality of data that gets to the downstream clients. The hire will work on ingesting data, testing data, and implementing internal tools to help monitor and identify improvements in internal processes. As an experienced Senior Software Developer on this team, youll be expected to test, debug large features of the data platform and also devise ways to measure performance and load. There is a tool that a previous employee built that analyzes scripts and can pinpoint where the code is bad. This tool needs to be tweaked, and also enhanced. The Senior Software Engineer will create an overall workflow mechanism that triggers automated deployments. (If we have 3 scripts, can we do them parallel? Or in a sequence?) This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a cutting edge technology stack, including Azure Services, Azure Service Fabric, NOSQL databases (Azure Table, Blob storage, COSMOS DB). You will solve problems in distributed and concurrent computing, including cross datacenter geo-replication, disaster recovery, work distribution and large scale data movement and migration. You will design an API and object model to support new experiences for millions of users Job Duties: Developing ETL data pipelines : involving cosmos scope scripting for extracting user logs in cosmos, transforming data to fit dimension model, developing ADF (Azure data factory) pipelines for loading to Azure storage & developing Power BI reporting. Developing azure based measurement infra : involving azure resources and expecting person to be hands-on. e.g. MVC / web-app / webjob / webapi/ worker roles / queue / service bus / scheduler / table & SQL storage / application insights / logging etc. Developing UHRS hit-app using javascript coding for getting manual judgements. Developing productivity tools for automating various repetitive tasks e.g. query-sets creation, DRI support tools etc. Debugging & fixing bugs with existing pipelines to help meet the SLAs. Programming experience needed in C#, .NET & SQL. In addition, you will be expected to follow agile methodologies and need to be familiar with git / code flow / Visual studio / CD & CI concepts. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience with a solid shipping track record Solid understanding of .Net framework internals Solid skills in C#, multi-threading, database design (SQL), performance and scalability concepts Cosmos: Experience workflow building in Cosmos, and doing automated deployments Azure Data Lake Storage: ADLS; U-SQL Experience in cloud computing and big data analytics Valued Competencies: A commitment to best practices Work independently in a large team Deal positively with high levels of uncertainty, ambiguity and shifting priorities Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
