Job Description: Technology Strategist Starbucks 1 Year The Technology Strategist (TS) works with business and technology leadership to develop, implement, and maintain strategies for using technology to boost top line company results and reduce operating costs, positioning the company to operate at greater efficiency and profit yield. This role will need to initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with senior leaders (evps, svps, vps, directors) in both business and technology organizations to identify and understand important trends and translate relevant objectives and key results (OKRs) into enterprise-level technology strategies. The TS must have a strong background in management consulting, with the ability to gather the inputs needed to accurately form an assessment of the current state of technologies relevant to the business domain in question. They must then work with internal leadership to gain an understanding of relevant company business goals, and perform research to understand state of the art technology approaches that will be a fit for the company to reach these goals effectively. Soft skills will be required to navigate complex networks of teams, agendas, personalities, and legacy methods, in order to bring leaders along and obtain their buy-in to novel go-forward plans. Strong story-telling and presentation skills, along with clear, concise, and impactful visuals with relevant data points, are all critical to success in this role. Interviews technology managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess solutions currently in use and perform analysis of what is working and what is not ? Learn relevant business goals, pain points, and desired outcomes from business leaders ? Gather requirements from business and technology stakeholders to develop a picture of needs and wants via interviews, questionnaires, and any existing analysis of business or technology operational metrics ? Understand the level of available funding to define outer boundaries for scope of the strategy ? Develop and leverage relationships with finance professionals who can provide cost analysis and status of budgets ? Review mission statements and project proposals to best align goals of the strategy Build and Maintain Relationships ?
