Voice network side- SIP experience preferred and useful, makes it easier learning curve Languages/tools- not requiring anything in particular, but someone who likes staying up to date with the latest technologies here, and appetite to learn Also work with Cloud, Agile Kanban - these would be helpful to have ***In person interview in Reston- Seeking Local candidates for onsite JOB DESCRIPTION Core Responsibilities • Experience working with Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond, with experience working with system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols • Expertise in configuring/managing Linux Systems, such as CentOS • Networking: experience with network theory e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc., MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing • Strong sense of ownership and drive coupled with systematic problem solving approach • Advanced experience in one or more of: Perl, Python, Ruby and shell scripting experience • Troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems and applications. Other Qualifications • Cloud Technologies and Open Source experience a significant plus • SIP experience, Voice familiarity is a major plus • Ability to projects and technical teams to derive solutions from conception to fruition • Ability to excel in a high paced, constantly changing environment. • Design, write and deliver software for support tools, migration tools, availability, scalability, and efficiency of our platform • Solve problems and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service condition – using open source tools. • Ability to thrive in an autonomous and collaborative environment. • Good internal and external communication skills • Familiarity with Kanban/Scrum/Agile/Lean • Ability to lead projects, identify problems and solve with minimal supervision. • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) only as necessary.
