Assist in the design using best practices for the layout of rack, switch, and cabling infrastructure. 2. Coordinate network switch migrations and cabling implementations with FDOTs district network POCs and vendors. 3. Provide project management functions to assist with activities related to the network switch migrations and data cabling retrofits. 5 Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience · Minimum of 5 years work experience in a large facility supporting a computing and network environment · Minimum 5 years of experience in data cabling and data networks providing switching infrastructure implementations · Project management skills · Strong verbal and written communication skills 7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks 1. Generate and maintain technical documentation – User docs/procedures 2. Develop visual topology diagrams for network, cabling, and network switches 3. Track project tasks 4. Liaise migration tasks between project manager, stakeholders, and vendors 5. identifies and mitigates project risks and conflicts 6. Validate configurations to make sure they are aligned with existing methods and practices 8 Job Specific Skills and Abilities (KSAs): 1. Must have a good working understanding of the below requirements: 2. Network communications, including Active Directory, TCP/IP, VOIP, DHCP, LAN, WAN and DNS. 3. Thorough knowledge of cabling and infrastructure design and implementation. 4. Knowledge of industry standards including ANSI/TIA 568-C.2 , IEEE and TIA/EIA. 5. Knowledge of network security 6. Knowledge of diagramming software to produce network topology or design reports 7. Project management knowledge to Coordinate with vendors, contractors, clients and other interdepartmental personnel. 8. Serve as a technical resource for others throughout FDOT, providing subject matter expertise. 9. The candidates considered for this position must be capable of independent work success, have good communication skills, and disciplined to follow FDOT processes and procedures. 10.
