Job Description : Position Description The Employment and Training system is a Federally-mandated application managed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) for its Food Assistance program, also known as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). This application provides an automated tool for Food Assistance Case Workers and Partner Case Managers to enroll individuals in educational and job training opportunities so that clients can become self-supporting, thereby reducing the need for ongoing support from the Federal and State government. Skills Required We are seeking a highly skilled tester who has experience in testing large scale software solutions with the following skillset. • Extensive knowledge of QA/QC methodology, standards and procedures such as creating test plans, test cases, test script generation, regression and user acceptance testing. • Experience testing projects developed using agile/scrum methodology. • Experience analyzing Functional and Technical Requirements. • Experience performing Functional Testing, Integration Testing, Load Testing, Stress Testing, Black-box Testing, White-box Testing, Performance Testing and Regression Testing. • Experience conducting manual and automated testing of web-based applications. • Experience creating and implementing Test Plans, Test Strategies and Test scenarios from given requirements. • Experience with Test Management. • Experience with defect reporting, triage, and tracking. • Experience creating and maintaining test documentation and test reports. • Experience developing automated tests with Microsoft Visual Studio. • Experience tracking work with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS). • Experience using and/or testing Crystal Reports/SSRS reports. • Experience with writing and debugging SQL for verification and validation. • Experience following formal Configuration Management procedures. • Ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, in English. • Experience partnering with Development teams and other project stakeholders to develop test cases, test scripts and test scenarios. • Ability to analyze test data and Identify trends and/or problems areas and their root causes. • Ability to identify discrepancies, report incidents, and validate actual test results vs. expected test results. Skills Preferred • Experience working within the Government sector, SNAP preferred. • Experience with automated testing tools, ability setup, configure and coach other QA staff, on how to use automated testing tools is a huge plus. Experience Required • Minimum of 7-10 years of testing .NET/ web based applications. • Ability to write/execute SQL queries to read/modify data in tables. Experience Preferred • Working in a public sector. • Testing enterprise level solutions. Education Required • Bachelors degree/Masters degree with a minimum of 7 years experience in testing .NET /web based applications. (Or) • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in testing .NET/ web based applications. Education Preferred • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science. Additional Information • Job is in Montgomery, Alabama. • Candidate must work onsite at the DHR facility in Montgomery. • No telecommuting or work from home is allowed. • Candidate will not receive any travel expense reimbursement from DHR. • Candidate must be available for an interview either in person (preferred) or via Skype if in-person interview is not practical.
