Job Title: Mainframe Application Developer

Duties:

Responsibility for maintenance, design, and development of a variety of MVS based COBOL/CICS/DB2 applications.
Analyze batch and online technical problems and provide recommendations for application improvements.
Work with infrastructure, network, architects, and peers to ensure successful implementations for enhancements, modifications, and upgrades.
Consult and influence the Project Manager and the business to arrive at best practice for new solution designs.
Provide effort estimations for the projects and work with Project Manager to align timelines.
Distribute project level components in task level components in preparation for assignment.
Consult with the business and peers to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
Maintain existing applications to ensure compliance to SOX, PCI and other internal audits as required.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, information systems, electrical engineering, or related field, plus relevant experience.

Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS or Engineering/Technology or related field or equivalent experience/training
5+ years of Cobol, CICS, DB2, JCL, development experience in a Mainframe environment.
7+ years demonstrated experience in a full Mainframe development life cycle.
3+ years demonstrated DB2 Table design experience, including performance tuning and an understanding of data normalization practices specific to DB2.
4+ years demonstrated Mainframe batch application and online interface problem solving skills, including problem triage, problem resolution, root-cause analysis, and prevention techniques.
4+ years experience with a variety of Mainframe technologies including: DB2 SQL, SCLM, TSO, REXX, File Aid, File Aid DB2, SPUFI, Abendaid, MAPR.
5+ years demonstrated experience working with Mainframe file transfer protocols including FTP and SFTP. This should include experience with Mainframe data encryption tools and techniques.
Demonstrative proficiency in developing and maintaining SAS programs for Z/OS.
Must be well organized, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices, and most importantly, innovate through any problem with a can-do attitude
Demonstrated ability to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize projects in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated prior experience supporting SOX and PCI audit. An understanding of the Audit deliverables for SOX and PCI required is strongly desired.
Experience using Agile Project tools such as Rally, JIRA is preferable
3+ years Knowledge of banking industry and payment systems is preferable. Airline Industry knowledge is highly desirable.
Demonstrated working experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
