Overall they are going to be building the app in SQL server and then adding encryption to connect to Teradata. Assignment location: Minneapolis. No remote work arrangement Description This role is in the Data Technology function of Enterprise Information Services. The work group is Data Protection Services. Plans, analyzes, designs, implements, maintains, and controls the organizations databases with a main focus on MS SQL Server and Oracle. Consults with and provides guidance to database users and client groups, often recommending tactical and strategic solutions. Performs moderately complex server-class database activities across various platforms and environments including one or more of the following: business requirement identification and analysis; conceptual, logical, and/or physical database design; data modeling and/or mapping; moderate to complex programming and coding to automate and/or support the database environment; performance monitoring and tuning; analyzing database metrics and assisting with capacity planning; planning, testing, configuration and execution of installations, upgrades and migrations; and implementing security controls. Performs database audit and compliance support activities. Familiar with database access and control process and procedures. Database audit capabilities for event management and monitor privilege access activities. Familiar with database encryption solutions for various levels of protection. Collaborates and provides input with other database analysts, where applicable, including troubleshooting and escalated issues. Act as a consultant with Application Development team to support programming and database object management business needs. Recommend initiative/programming alternatives to meet the project needs as well as utilize existing hardware to its maximum capacity. Required qualifications: Level 5 - 7+ years of database administration and support experience • Have expert knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 or 2008 and/or Oracle v 10,11,12 • Experience with MS SQL BI solution. Level 6 – 10_ years of database administration and support experience • Have expert knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 or 2008 and/or Oracle v 10,11,12 • Experience with MS SQL BI solution.
