Roles And Responsibilities :

MassHealth is a significant health plan management organization, charged with managing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Medicaid program. MassHealth is currently seeking a Business Analyst (BA) to assist us in testing conversion processes in our effort to migrate Health Safety Net (HSN) claims history into our MMIS. The BA for the HSN Claims Conversion project will serve as the liaison between the business community and the technical development project and, as such, should be well versed in health plan management, operational concepts and the systems development lifecycle. The BA will be responsible for the requirements gathering, design approval, testing, and implementing the HSN conversion within the overall business functional structure of MassHealth. The BAs primary responsibility is to ensure that the converted claims meet the requirements of the business community and conforms to all applicable Federal and state laws. The BA is an active member in all phases of the project including: gap, analysis, requirements gathering, design approval and development activities, testing, implementation, and stabilization. Ideal candidate will have a background that includes expertise in health care systems and preferably some experience in running sql queries for data analysis. Candidates may also be called upon to “back fill” the duties of staff Business Analysts so that the staff analysts will be available to assist with the work on specialized aspects of the HSN project.

Scope of Work:

• Gather and document user requirements
• Review and approve technical solutions
• Participate in design walkthroughs
• Develop test strategies, test scenarios and test cases
• Perform conversion testing.
• Review test runs
• Sign off on tested components
• Document conversion requirements, if necessary, and participate in their development (design, construction, testing, and roll-out)
• Coordinate review cycles with business users in all phases of the project
• Assist in development of the implementation strategy
• Support the development of end-user training materials and end-user documentation as required
• Oversee the stabilization phase including the monitoring of system change execution, the development of system “fix” strategies and the close monitoring of the implementation of those strategies
• Assist in the configuration of any HSN reference tables.
