We have a 30-month project with our client in Albany, NY that requires a Software Architect, Expert Day-to-Day Tasks include, but not limited to: Code, test and maintain COBOL based applications that follow program specifications and coding standards. Create detailed program design specifications for system implementations, integrations, and enhancements. Utilize relevant programming languages, queries, utilities, maintenance tools, and databases (e.g., Mainframe DB2, AIX DB2, Sybase, FoxPro) to troubleshoot, update, and modify the various system components. Identify issues for which a technical solution is required and assist in continued improvement. Communicate technical issues and information effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional and technical staff to gather technical requirements. Obtain business requirements to develop automated applications which meet business priorities. Collaborate effectively within a team environment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where legislative changes must be quickly implemented. Mentor less experienced staff; and Develop technical documentation. Mandatory Qualifications: Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system. 84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field. Preferred Qualifications: 84 months experience with a Government Taxation organization which includes technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of Tax & Revenue Accounting Systems 84 months of systems analysis and design experience in multi-tiered transactional systems 60 months experience with Java programming in an IBM environment using IDE of IBMs Rational Application Developer (RAD) that are built with WebSphere Application Server (WAS). 84 months experience with IBM AIX DB2 working with databases 84 months experience with IBM MVS JCL in a mainframe environment 84 months experience with IBM MQ-Series 84 months experience with TSO (Terminal Sharing Option) in a mainframe environment 48 months experience with CICS in a mainframe environment 84 months experience with COBOL programming in an IBM Mainframe Environment 84 months of experience writing technical design specification documents for multifaceted component-based systems.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
