Candidate and Job Summary Ideal candidate must be a team player, detail oriented with strong follow through-capabilities, dependable and able to handle rapidly changing priorities with a positive attitude with great flexibility. The candidate will work in a 7x24 first-tier response team performing “eyes on glass” monitoring, validation and escalations of Tandem and UNIX system alerts within specified SLA times. Job Requirements, Duties & Responsibilities • Monitor Tandem and Unix server operations: server hardware, applications and processing • Monitor, review and respond to alerts from automated system monitors • Opens, updates, closes and monitors Remedy Trouble Tickets within the SLA • Monitor TNG and Data Express for job and transmission failures • Complete Daily Check Sheets • Monitor Tandem Viewpt for system alerts • Monitor Tandem Monbatch for aborts • Other duties as assigned to meet business requirements Fundamental Process Skills • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and resolve urgent issues • Utilize process skills with high attention to detail • Ability to follow documented procedures during system failures • Ability to follow daily system checklists • Escalates to internal / external sources to expedite resolution of issue • Ability to follow and understand all standards, processes, procedures and policies Technical Skills / Knowledge • Familiarity with a variety of system management tools and programs • Working knowledge of: o Basic knowledge of UNIX command line syntax o Basic knowledge Tandem non-stop system o File Transmissions • Fluent ability in applications: MS Office, M/S Visio & SharePoint • Basic networking principles. • Knowledge of Windows / UNIX login processes Communication Skills • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills working with customers • Ability to provide on-call engineers critical information in a clear, concise and quick manner Required Experience • 1-2 years experience in a 7/24/365 network operations center • 1+ years of hands-on experience in a Tandem / UNIX environment Work Schedule • Nonexempt position • Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Shifts may be rotated and reassigned as needed to meet business requirements • Shifts are comprised of 40 hours per week Education Requirements • A High School Diploma is required; Associates degree or higher in data processing or equivalent preferred • Certifications with Tandem / UNIX systems a plus • ITIL Foundations Certifications a plus   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
