Job Description Engineer: Unix, Syslog, Cisco Router, CISCO Firewalls

Summary: This position is a network Security Engineer. The individual will be responsible for managing and executing security projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This section contains a list of five to eight primary responsibilities of this role that account for 5% or more of the work. The incumbent will perform other duties assigned.
Own assigned tasks, resolve routine problems. Requires general direction, gives no direction to others and some knowledge of operating environments.
1) Identify and modify security systems to improve the network security posture.
2) Manage security projects and communicate changes and activities.
3) Provide documentation related to security projects.
4) Configure Cisco router ACLS and Cisco ASA firewalls.
5) Assist with Daily operations.
6) Management of WAS, Websense and Lancope.
7) Assist in various projects.

1) Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
2) Ability to work independently, under general supervision.
3) Knowledge of hardware, internals, peripherals, and software on platforms supported.
4) Ability to follow established processes
5) Ability to apply problem solving techniques
6) Good verbal and written communication skills
7) Excellent judgment and customer interaction skills.
8) Proficient with Unix, VI, and syslog.
9) Proficient with Cisco routers, Cisco Firewalls, and Access Control Lists.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree in computer related field or 4+ years of relevant technical experience. Technical certifications recommended.
