Specific responsibilities include support and deployment of application monitoring (java, .net and custom applications) using CA wily introscope and customer experience manager. The individual will meet with key stakeholders and other IS team members to understand the delivery of business critical services and use this information to build and improve Monitoring Tool capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates complex Monitoring architectures utilizing Monitoring Tools set under the direction of the Monitoring Architect, with a focus on monitoring applications and end user experience in support of application migrations. Provide IT infrastructure monitoring (servers, networks, applications) to achieve optimum performance levels. Creates, maintains, and authors documentation related to Monitoring as requested. Works to apply automation to streamline application migration activities. Examines Monitoring reports to determine trends and baselines, and uses this information to drive improvements in IS infrastructure and service delivery. Assist with support of application monitoring migration activities. Meet with key stakeholders and IS technology subject matter experts to understand and support IS Service delivery specific to monitoring and performance reporting. Provides support and consultation to remote locations or clients to minimize outage timeframes. PREFERRED QULAIFICATIONS: Domestic and International IS experience, preferably for a large, international company. Training and experience with Monitoring Tools (CA Spectrum, CA eHealth, Sysedge, Wily Introscope, NetQoS, SCOM, and OEM preferred). Training and experience supporting network devices and technologies. Understanding and experience with Data Center technologies. Training and experience with database, storage, and current Operating Systems. In depth understanding and experience with SNMP is preferred, including Trap Mapping and MIB development. Knowledge of J2EE, Middleware, and Application delivery. A minimum of 3 years of Network Operations Center (NOC) experience with a large, international company is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has knowledge of other related disciplines. Develops technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. ITIL training and experience desirable but not required. WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Technical IS skills across a broad range of IS technologies. Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent customer service skills. Understanding and application of business continuity principles and best-in-class techniques. Familiarity with biotech or pharmaceutical functions and underlying business processes. Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate the business impact of service interruptions and degradations. Experience configuring multiple hardware and OS platforms. Understanding of Monitoring methods typically utilized for n-tier IS architectures. Experience with SNMP MIB development, trap mapping, and SNMP protocol configuration. Experience with application testing, development, and troubleshooting preferred. BEHAVORIAL SKILLS KEY TO BEING SUCESSFUL IN THE ROLE: Proven ability to establish relationships and coordinate activity across varied customer groups. Proven ability to contribute effectively to teams with members based in remote, International locations.
