They will be responsible for installing, managing, and maintaining the IT service management tools, as needed, as well as integration with other tools and collaboration with other groups and their tools. The BSM Tools Administrator (TA) will be responsible for helping to implement, configure, manage and maintain the ITSM/BSM technology tools, documentation, training initiatives and collaboration with other groups. The TA will also work with teams, including the Enterprise Architecture and LAN teams to integrate ITSM tools with tools in other groups. The TA will be responsible for documenting existing tool management processes, procedures, maintenance plans and associated policies for use, as well as expanding or modifying them as necessary. Responsibilities: 1. 70% Manages, configures and maintains tools, tool data, tool architecture, and research. Creates documentation to support management and maintenance of ITSM/BSM tools. 2. 5% Provides training on tools and the associated processes and procedures. 3. 5% Analyzes tool data and usage. Communicates weekly with management verbally and via written detailed status reports regarding potential problems and concerns. 4. 5% Assists in reviewing and analyzing business & system requirements and specifications for systems monitoring tool protocols and future tool usage. Creates and manages documentation, processes, procedures, and policy for usage and handling of tools. 5. 5% Develops and maintains business and technical knowledge through Computer Based Training (CBT), classroom training, workshops, reading and research etc. Acquires and maintains a working knowledge of monitoring and service management tools. Expands knowledge of product benefits, corporate policies, division and department goals and procedures. 6. 5% Coordinates business continuity practices for ITSM /BSM tools, when needed. 7. 5% Participates in project work group meetings (status meetings, process improvement (P2CP), walk through, internal/external peer reviews, etc.). Required Qualifications: 5 years strong IT experience and good working knowledge of a variety of technology platforms in a distributed environment including: Microsoft systems (e.g. Windows 2008 Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint), Linux/Unix, VMWare, SQL Server, database architectures, TCP/IP, VPNs, Mainframe, LAN/WAN technologies and architectures. A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in ITSM/BSM tool administration and support. Experience installing, integrating, managing and maintaining tools (e.g., HP uCMDB, Discovery, Service Manager/Service Desk, HP BSM). Experience in HP Service Manager in 2 or more of the following modules: Incident Management Module, Problem Management Module, Request Management Module, Change Management Module, Service Catalogue OR Experience in similar service desk tools and modules by other vendors. Experience writing shell, perl, WMI or VBS scripts. Experience developing and documenting processes, procedures, and policies for tool usage and integration. Author tool maintenance and training documentation as well as support requests for training on tool usage. Knowledge and experience with configuring alerts, dashboards and ad-hoc reports. Strong understanding of service level management (SLAs, SLRs, etc.). Determine and document tool backup and recovery procedures. Experience with data management tools and databases (e.g., DB2, SQL, Sybase-familiarity desired). Must be willing to work after-hours and overtime when necessary.
