Job Description: Under limited supervision, the Senior Virtualization Engineer is accountable for planning, designing, integrating, implementing, and maintaining GBMCs XenApp and XenDesktop environments as well as related virtual hypervisor and cloud computing systems. Provides recommendations and consulting services to analysts for project design and strategic initiatives that require application virtualization and/or virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of desktop and server platform templates for interoperability of various programs and core enterprise clinical applications. Collaborates with the Infrastructure team in maximizing uptime, designing highly available (HA) systems, achieving performance benchmarks, as well as identifying network and system vulnerabilities, and the appropriate solutions to eliminate or minimize their potential effects. Provides guidance to staff in the evaluation of new software and hardware systems, particularly as they relate to virtualization and cloud computing. Education Bachelors degree in computer science or related field preferred or equivalent professional experience. Experience • 3-10 years of progressive responsibility in engineering and administering VDI and application virtualization solutions preferred. • Experience with XenApp and XenDesktop preferred. • Experience with VSphere Hypervisor and Microsoft Windows server/desktop OS platforms and Group Policy administration. • Experience working with front line clinical devices and/or in a healthcare space is a bonus but not required Skills • Skill in oral and written communication. • Skill in project management. • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, VMware vSphere, • Proficient with XenApp, XenDesktop, Citrix Storefront, Citrix Receiver, Citrix Desktop Delivery Controller, Citrix Provisioning, Citrix Director. • Familiarity with Citrix Netscaler Licensures, Certifications • Industry Certification: CCA, CCP, VCAP, VCP or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements • Some heavy lifting Working Conditions • High paced constantly changing work environment. • Includes on-call responsibility for Network support • 90% remote • M-F 8am-4:30pm (flexible as some hours will be worked outside of this) • At least 90 day contract with option to turn permanent   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
