Required: • Minimum 7 years technical experience of VMware vSphere installations, administration and deploying virtualized infrastructure in a predominantly Windows/Linux Guest Environment • Advanced working knowledge and experience with VMware vSphere ESXi product line • Working knowledge of VMware vRealize Orchestrator or other virtual infrastructure automation and scripting tools • Experience using proactive software and hardware monitoring solutions like vRealize Operations (vROPS) for troubleshooting, and capacity planning • Experience with SAN/NAS technologies (VMAX, EqualLogics, NetApp) • Experience with networking technologies and support VMware NSX deployments • Advanced troubleshooting of servers, networks, Windows and Linux, operating systems related issues • Strong networking /Security knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless, VLANs, routing/switching, NAT, UTM, IPS, IDS etc. • Excellent communication and people skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team • Willingness to learn and the ability to perform under pressure • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills and good organizational & documentation skills • Advanced troubleshooting skills to determine root cause of incidents • Availability for after hours and weekend work with 24x7 call-occasionally Daily Tasks & Responsibilities: • Implement, install, configure, optimize and manage VMware virtualization environment components (vSphere, vRA, vROPS, ESXi, NSX, SRM, vDI) • Support diagnoses and troubleshooting of problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft Windows and Linux O/S systems • Diagnose and troubleshoots basic problems with multiple technologies in order to maintain proper functioning, and resolves issues including but not limited to contacting and assisting vendors, clients and peers • Within established procedures, responds to end user requests for duplicating virtual machines and deploying server appliances • Perform workload migrations using VMware native features (Vmotion/SVmotion) • Assisting back up of virtual machines and supporting virtual machine backup infrastructure. • Configuring, troubleshooting, and administering IT server, networking and SAN storage solutions • Work closely with other ESXi engineers/technician to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems • Resolves escalated help desk tickets and provides after-hours (rotational) support as needed for problem analysis and resolution • Interact with vendors for support, new technologies, and vendor relationship tasks • Analyze metrics to identify optimization opportunities and utilization/capacity trends • Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards • Share information and best practices with other team members • Provide support and mentoring to less experienced engineers • Produce documentation and provide detailed knowledge transfer to peers on VMware installed products • Researches, installs and administers IT Automation and Orchestration solutions • Identifies modifications to implement and improve operational support Core Competencies: • Advanced working knowledge and experience with VMware vSphere ESXi VMware ESX 6.0/6.5/6.7 and PowerCLI. • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques • Knowledge of the current virtualization industry hardware, software, and equipment • Professional certification in one or more relevant technologies • Experience with SAN/NAS technologies (Fibre/ISCSI) •   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
