Job Description Engineer: VSAN,Virtual SAN, VM Ware, Troubleshoot, SLAs Development Architecture EMC VDI

Job Description :

vSAN Engineer/Consultant:

· Experienced with VMware vSAN Implementation, configuration and administration Involved in installation, configuration, and administration and troubleshooting of vSAN infrastructure.

· Provide support on vSAN Design and Best Practice

· Work with the Virtualization Engineering team on in-progress and new projects

· Provide vSAN Ops Support and act as liaison between customer and VMware for the VDI vSAN environment

· Collaborate with the TAM and Architects on Knowledge Sharing

· Maintain a current test environment according to the clients release management Should the resource become unavailable, is determined by the Customer to be not competent or does not work effectively with the project team, Provider will supply a replacement resource within ten (10) business Days from the date of the Dell written request.

· Providing configuration & deployment knowledge as needed and/or requested in the above areas



Project Goals:

Provide technical leadership and the maintenance of the technical architectural design, strategies, and plans that will be delivered on an ongoing basis for PowerEdge VSAN Ready Nodes:

· Provide ongoing management of configuration and layout of the storage infrastructure.

· Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and Customer change management policies.

· Design data migration architecture as required.

· Provide analysis of the environment and best practice knowledge transfer.

· Responsible for Run Book design, development, and ongoing updates.

· Responsible for ongoing recommendations and best practices, as applicable, for business continuity, high availability, backup, recovery, and archiving.

· Responsible for capacity planning as well as disaster recovery planning and design as applicable.

· Provide ITIL process planning as applicable.

· Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization and improved SLAs.

Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews as applicable.

· Dell Tech Support Process.

· Power Edge Servers Technical Knowledge.

· System Configuration.

· Operating Systems install.

· Trouble Shooting.

· iDrac Configuration and trouble shooting.

· Open Manage Enterprise.

· Open Mange Support Assist.
