Description :
Client in Oakland, is looking for a Buseinss Analyst with ITIL experience for a 6 months plus contract.
This project requires demonstrated business analysis expertise combined with in-depth skills and specific experience with business process re-engineering within the domain of IT application services. The candidate must also possess previous experiencing creating ITIL-based service management processes and implementating them on a platform that supports ITIL.

Roles :
* Evaluation of the as-is state of IT service processes within different application and infrastructure teams.
* Evaluation of current state unit structures and business processes, based on data gathered and interviews of impacted staff members
* Gap analysis
* Documentation of current processes
Based on ITIL-based best practices create standard IT service management processes that will be used across the different IT application and infrastructure units.
* Design of future state structure and business processes to achieve business goals and streamline operations;
* Development and delivery of plan to achieve To Be state, with major milestones, tasks, and deliverables identified
* Plan for the retirement of certain standalone applications currently in use for IT service maangement by different teams.
* Work with designated technical staff on supporting them in the implementation of the standard IT service management processes on the servicenow platform.

Proposed Responsibilities :
* ITIL-based service mangement processes and application domain business process re-engineering
* Analyze and document current state organization and processes
* Conduct interviews with impacted staff and supervisors to understand functions and activities
* Design and document To Be state, based on strategic business goals and ITIL service management best practices
* Identify gaps between current as-is state and future state
* Work with technical staff on implementation of To Be state, including tasks related to communication planning, staff evaluation and re-training, developing metrics to measure success, etc.

Required Skills :
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired, with experience working in IT application services
* Ability to create process flows, swim lane diagrams and other analytical deliverables; ability to document current state structures and processes (as-is process mapping), interview and work with technical staff, supervisors, and managers, to craft potential future states understanding the impact on resources and project implementation.
* Experience with requirements gathering and developing streamlined processes in the areas of IT project management and resource management.
* Experience in business analysis including experience providing business analysis support in project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing for a large, complex project
* Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work on cross-functional teams and foster the teams commitment to tasks
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in technical terms
* Self motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of direction and able to work well with stakeholders and project staff
* Able to synthesize broad and diverse inputs and large amounts of information to formulate cohesive strategies and solutions.
* Knowledge of best practices in business process re-engineering, and creation of ITIL-based service management processes demonstrated through relevant experience.
* Strong familiarity with common office software including MS Project, Vi
