Responsible for working on medium to high architectural impact projects, recommending exceptions to the Enterprise Architecture for high level projects, reviewing and approving medium architectural impact designs, communicating the Enterprise Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams within their line of business or infrastructure sub-domain (organizational unit) and directing implementation of the architecture for their organizational unit. Serves as the highest-level technical consultant to internal clients and technical management to ensure conformity with Enterprise Architecture, having expertise across a broad portion of the organizational units architecture, or in-depth expertise within a more specific portion of the architecture. 10+ years design and planning experience in systems, applications or IT Architecture. The architect position will have the responsibility of architecture development and enhancement of the applications and data systems. The desired candidate will be a self-starter who will work independently, as well as report and demonstrate progress on regular intervals. The candidate should be able to work in an environment without any prior documentation. The candidate will be required to work with technology and business SMEs to deliver complete and accurate current state application architecture documentation of the embedded or third party application systems. Analyze embedded application design/architecture layers to understand and accurately document Application Purpose, Security aspect, Application architecture layers (application, data, and technology), Data flows, and Process Diagram, Data Mapping Diagrams, and Deployment or Environment Diagrams. Additionally, they will have the technical ability to recognize areas where rationalization opportunity exists and recommend action should be taken. They need to think outside the immediate paradigm while maintaining enterprise standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities • Develop detail application level architecture design documents with use cases, sequence, and components diagrams etc. • Collaborate with other architects, technology leaders, and business leaders in the enterprise for architecture documentation and reviews. • Create and publish application architecture using Visio, Excel, PowerPoint or other architecture tools. • Present documents/artifacts for architecture for variety of audiences. • Excellent analytical ability to analyze and understand complex technology solutions. • Research/evaluate cloud and third party hosted technology products from architecture perspective • Evaluate applications from security perspective. • Identify and create architecture patterns. Skills & Requirements • Have a solid track record of application architecture experience. • Deep understanding of solution architecture concepts /framework such as TOGAF. • Experience with architecture modeling and documentation tools – Visio, Rational etc. • Hands on experience with SharePoint services, JavaScript, PowerPoint etc. • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
