They will also be responsible for driving stakeholder review sessions and then converting, re-engineering and enhancing WSDOT UI design specifications. Duties will primarily consist of Developing UI designs for the Vehicle Reservation System. The successful candidate must use established work procedures, best UI design practices, and innovative approaches to complete assignments and coordinate projects, such as conducting needs assessments and using state-of-the-art design tools and formats. Proficiency in MS Office products, as well as industry accepted graphics design packages is essential. The majority of assignments and projects are moderate in size and impact an agency division or large workgroup or single business function; or internal or satellite operations, multiple users, or more than one group. Specific duties include: • Review functional requirements and use cases • Prepare storyboards to represent the user experience in multiple scenarios • Hold review sessions with stakeholders to get feedback on UX • Design working user interfaces of the approved storyboards • Coordinate with team developers to smoothly hand off UI designs in a format the developers can readily use in .NET • Work with an Agile team to rapidly iterate on designs based on team, stakeholder, and end user feedback • Prepare bi-weekly demonstrations of UI advancements Additional duties may be assigned by the WSDOT Project Manager as needed. It is expected that for the first six weeks, the contractor will be on-site at WSF (Seattle) fulltime (40 hours per week). After that period, the contractor will be available for up to 230 hours per week on an as-needed basis to make improvements to the user experience and UI designs. Contractor will turn over all work products to the WSDOT Project Manager and all work products become the property of WSDOT. Required Skills: Minimum of 5 years dedicated User interface design processes and methodology using Visual Studio .Net Minimum of 3 years experience as an Information Architect wire framing and prototyping user interactions.
