Job Description Administrator: WebSphere, Web Logic, IIS Web Server Administration, J2EE Was Vendor Management Experience

Our large Banking/Financial client is looking for a Senior Subject Matter Expert for Java Application Server (Primarily WebSphere and WebLogic) environments for multiple enterprise applications. Work effectively with Web Developers, Architects, and other project staff to successfully upgrade WebSphere Application Servers (WAS) from pervious EOS versions to 8.5 in new shared services architecture. Provide hands-on support and maintain existing WAS infrastructure and support WebLogic deployments. Work with internal teams and vendors to administer and support banks externally hosted high availability web applications infrastructure (IIS and IHS servers in DMZ).
Responsibilities:
Lead WAS upgrade project by providing hands-on SME support and working with various stakeholders (infrastructure, application and security teams) to ensure all work is done within banks processes.
Administer, maintain and support Application Server (WAS and WebLogic) initiatives and deployments
Work with application teams to understand their requirements and deliver solutions
Design and document web application deployment procedure and architecture
Provide production support (including off-hours, weekend)
Assist in reviewing vendor technical solutions, application and infrastructure requirements/changes to the environment
Review and provide suggestions to improve supported environments and processes
Participate in special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications Technical:

WebSphere:
Experience in WAS migration from previous versions to 8.5
Experience with Installation, Deployment, Clustering (Network Deployment), and Administration of WAS (6.x and 7.x) in complex environment.
Experience with WAS and DB2 integration
Experience with SSO within WebSphere Application Server. IBM Tivoli Access Manager Configuration is preferable.
Experience with various LDAP repository for WAS security (Active Directory , Sun LDAP and Tivoli Directory Service)
Experience with WebSphere integration with IHS server and WAS plug-in.
Experience with configuring HA and DR solution with WAS for production deployments.
Knowledge of AIX, Microsoft Windows, and Linux
Knowledge of TCP/IP, Networking, and SAN concepts

WebLogic:
Install, configure, tune and deploy WebLogic in a non-clustered/ clustered J2EE environment
Adjust load balancer settings to distribute and balance traffic
Configure and deploy application code sets in various formats including EAR, WAR, and JAR files
Evaluate, test, and deploy software patches and fixes
Manage and configure database connections, thru Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) data-sources, and JDBC pools
Identify available disk space, deploy file and directory protection schemas, tune kernel parameters, manage shared memory
Experience in analyzing the various server logs and thread dumps to perform Root Cause Analysis
Troubleshoot application problems, check server configurations, and analyze log file entries, using WebLogic Admin Console utilities as well as manual monitoring methods
Excellent working knowledge in implementing LDAP, Oracle 8i/9i/10g with WebLogic
Adjust WebLogic settings such as file descriptors, targets and cluster configurations
Schedule and perform after hour software maintenance to keep the system operational.
Support Disaster Recovery activities
Knowledge of AIX, Microsoft Windows, and RedHat Linux

Web Hosting:
Experience in development and setup of IIS Web applications
Worked with web application security
Knowledge of IIS Web Server Administration
Knowledge of Network Protocols
Understanding of Network devices and infrastructure e.g. Load Balancing, Firewalls, Routers, WAN
