Description :

Purpose
DWR requires the services of a Contractor to provide one (1) qualified Oracle Database
Administrator to provide expert knowledge transfer and assist staff to upgrade and implement new
databases to support continued and new business functionality required by CAISO. Specifically,
the DWR must implement and upgrade various business applications associated with power cost
settlements, operational analysis and reporting, and water and power scheduling functions
supported by the CAISO Oracle Database Administrator Services.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications
1. Contractors Minimum Qualifications
a. Contractor must be able to provide one (1) qualified individual who can meet the proposed
staff minimum qualifications.
b. Three (3) years experience in IT projects of similar scope and size of this RFQ. Contractor
will be required to provide at least three (3) customer references detailing this experience
c. Five (5) years managing and supervising projects with a similar scope, technology and
schedule as outlined in this RFQ. Project(s) experience must have the same IT concepts
and principles, including IT project life cycles, system development life cycles and technical
aspects of the type of work described in the attached State of Work (SOW), including a
proven application of the State of California government policies and practices.
d. Must be able to provide a comprehensive summary of description of how tasks identified in
the Statement of Work (SOW) will be performed.
2. Proposed consultants Minimum Qualifications
The proposed consultant must have the following minimum qualifications:
a. The proposed consultant must be Oracle certified Professional Database Administrator in
releases 10g or 11g;
b. Minimum of five (5) years of Oracle Database Administrator experience;
c. Minimum of two (2) years of Data Warehouse Design, Development and Administration
experience;
d. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Oracle
Database releases in 10g or 11g environments;
e. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in performance tuning of Oracle databases;
f. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in setting up Oracle Database backup and
recovery processes and systems;
g. Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Oracles Data Extraction, Transformation and
Loading (ETL) software tools;
h. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in PL/SQL;
i. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Data Guard Software releases 10g or 11g;
j. Minimum of two (2) years of Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control releases 10g or 11g;
k. Communication Skills – Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
l. Resumes must have clearly defined dates stated for clarification of years of experience.
m. Must be able to provide a minimum of two (2) references for work similar in nature of these
RFQ requirements. (Evaluated in Reference and Interview section below)
3. Proposed Consultants Desired Qualifications
a. Two (2) years of experience with RAC technologies in releases10g or 11g;
b. One (1) year experience with the SunGard and Power Costs Inc. systems that support the
water and energy scheduling and accounting in coordination with CAISO.
