Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. Defines user interfaces and functional specifications. Roles and Responsibilities: Will design and create logical and physical data models for reporting Data Marts, Business Architecture, star schemas, and other business intelligence environments in addition to maintaining the existing ones. Will be responsible for the logical and physical design of Operational Data Stores (ODS) and staging all source data. Functioning as senior data warehouse architect on ODS, Data Warehouse, and Data Mart design team, answers questions and provides guidance for other designers and developers. Assuming responsibility for metadata management, for Data Quality and Data Stewardship standards Will work with IT and Business Project Managers to develop project plan, including data management processes and maintain the existing ones. Consulting with functional users and subject matter experts to obtain data and information requirements. Will work with project team and will work in collaboration with both data warehouse developers and DBAs. Will work with Reporting team to define and develop user data requirements. Will assist to gather and review business requirements by partnering with data warehouse users, providing feedback on functional request feasibility and scope. Working with source system functional owners and developers to identify required data and completing source to target maps. Working with source system owners to design and develop interface files to their platform. Designing and building data marts to support user requirements using appropriate schema(s), designing for efficient access and maintenance, using conformed dimensions, surrogate keys, and slowly changing dimensions and other data warehousing techniques where appropriate. Developing techniques to effectively integrate and transform data on a continuing basis. Identifying sources of data and effectively and standardize the data content. Developing overall views, schemas and roles, in which incorporating appropriate security in an efficient manner and ensuring appropriate data access for all warehouse users. Developing both Logical and Physical Data models for each data mart. Leading in the design of efficient and effective data handling processes. Using data mappings, native languages and/or ETL Tool (i.e. OWB ), specifying extract process of data from operational systems. Will be responsible for design and coding of technical aspects of BI implementation efforts, and support of data extract and target requirements. This includes the requirement for the extraction and transformation of data from enterprise source systems Cleansing, transforming, aggregating and summarizing data as needed to populate the Enterprise data warehouse and data marts. Developing and implementing quality assurance checks as routine part of incremental data loads to verify that the warehouse data is correctly loaded from production data. Working with the functional team to test and verify data loading processes and correct any problems with data mappings or incorrect data. Strong technical and analytical skills.
