The Court Information Systems Division (CIS) is responsible for providing technological support to the states courts, making court information available to the public, and developing and implementing online, court-related services. The Administrative Office of the Courts is building a new court management solution for Arkansas Courts. The Functional Architect will work with our software development teams and system users to ensure that the new system meets the functional needs of court users and the data requirements for tracking court cases involving commercial driver license (CDL) holders and commercial motor vehicles (CMV) for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). JOB DUTIES: •Work with court users to create user stories for court case management in the new system •Work with FMCSA to ensure that the new system collects relevant data to improve highway safety including information the reduce violation masking for CDL holders •Work with software developers to turn user stories into working software that delights customers •Work with teams to test software as it is developed •Work with product owners to ensure that developed software meets functional requirements •Work with teams to develop training materials, documentation, and self-help guides •Train and support users in the new system •Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: •Education The formal education of a bachelors degree is desired. A bachelors degree in Business Administration is preferred. •Experience Three years of experience teaching, training, or interacting with customers in a high-paced environment is essential. The Functional Architect will support the Product Owner and help the team maintain a sense of urgency in getting working software out the door! The Functional Architect must be someone who loves to explore computer software and imagine new ways of using software to be more productive. The successful candidate will come to us with a service-oriented attitude in a collaborative team environment and experience in a problem-solving workspace. Knowledge of Arkansas court processes and understanding the use of technology in court software is highly desirable, but the Functional Architect must be able to communicate successfully with system users and other stakeholders and translate their needs into user stories that can be turned in to usable software by developers. Imagination will be essential in helping turn ideas into working software that our courts will love.
