Designs, develops, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureaus (LRCVB) networking environment to include fiber, wired and wireless networks, to provide an effective and efficient form of communication for network users and ensures the network is operating in compliance with the LRCVBs networking standards and all applicable security standards. 2. Installs and maintains computer network infrastructure to include LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, wireless systems, remote connectivity and other related network hardware and software. 3. Develops, installs, and maintains server and firewall security, network security and cybersecurity to control system access for various network software programs to include DNS, DHCP, ERP, Domain Control, Print and other network servers. 4. Conducts research, evaluates new technology to determine industry trends or new network designs, makes recommendations to improve the functionality of the network, and implements upon approval. 5. Coordinates the LRCVBs structured cabling system, including fiber and category cables generated by cabling requests for new device installations, relocations of network devices, repairs or other related activities. 6. Investigates, identifies, and resolves problems with wired and wireless networks; supports Windows servers, client computers, and related software. 7. Monitors network functionality to identify performance problems; analyzes and troubleshoots network problems and outages; develops and implements system changes or configuration modifications to resolve performance problems and increase efficiency of the network. 8. Develops and maintains systems networking addressing required for effective connectivity and security, including IP addressing plus server, domain, and workstation identification; establishes documentation for the systems addressing process. 9. Coordinates with vendors and software publishers to ensure that all network devices and associated hardware and software are maintained with current software updates, firmware upgrades, and patches; maintains a networking baseline of each system; records and documents all changes. 10. Develops and implements archiving, backup, and recovery strategies; installs and ensures compliance with all security policies and procedures for internal and external use; ensures compliance with LRCVB disaster recovery policies by supervising off-site tape backup disaster recovery system. 11. Installs, configures, and maintains network security, firewalls, email filters, and web filters, coordinates with Software Systems Engineer regarding active directory servers and related security servers. 12. Coordinates with the Software Systems Engineer to monitor functionality and review system performance to provide an overall evaluation of network; makes recommendations for cost savings, increased efficiency, maintenance needs, and advanced technology as needed. 13. Provides assistance to the Senior Director of Information Technology in the development of Information Technology policies and procedures including security related policies and procedures and long-range plans in anticipation of the processing and communication needs of the organization. 14. Maintains the voice and data (VOIP) communications system for all LRCVB operated facilities; evaluates, troubleshoots, and diagnoses voice and data communications system malfunctions; takes necessary action to restore system to service; notifies appropriate personnel of status; resolves the problem, advises supervisor, and contacts outside vendor for resolution as appropriate. 15.
