The candidate will participate in all aspects of testing including reviewing requirements, writing manual test cases, executing tests, investigating problems, identifying solutions, and continuously seeking improvements. Travel is estimated to be 15-20%. Responsibilities: Regular interaction with international partners (internal and external) Partner with development department for test, launch, and series support of electronic car systems Work with automotive suppliers in the testing of hardware and software System and concept validation Create and update test procedures, plans, and test routes with a focus on North American market specifications in order to efficiently carry out laboratory and field tests. Test execution and coordination Communicate test contents and results to VW Group using advanced equipment and standardized systems for error reporting. Prepare regular project status reports Establish and maintain an error reporting database, cross-link objective quality results to other US specific navigation test databases Error and Bug-Fix verification Prepare vehicles for test drives Install, package, and integrate new prototype units into cars System and error analysis Required core competencies: Analyze software requirements including testability, consistency, and ambiguity Develop test strategies; Establish test procedures Design, implement, and execute manual tests. Analyze, interpret, and record results Ability to learn the system under test and understand how a consumer will use the technology Ability to effectively interface with a team through oral and written communication Required (some): Knowledge of embedded and integrated automotive systems Knowledge of automotive infotainment systems in one of the following areas o navigation systems and GPS technology o telephone and Bluetooth technology o signal processing - noise and echo cancellation theory and technologies o AM/ FM/ SAT radio technology o voice recognition technology Experience testing wireless communication devices Experience testing cell phone/tablet applications Ability to interpret technical specifications Desired: Experience with DOORS requirements management system Knowledge of automotive and wireless technology trends Experience with Android, Blackberry Apple iOS, and Windows Mobile operating systems Knowledge about mobile communication technologies (CDMA, GSM, LTE, WiMax) Spanish, French Canadian or German language skills   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
