IDEAL BACKGROUND: Must have Oracle RDB DBA experience. Must have solid OpenVMS Integrity related experience, including OpenVMS 8.4-2x. Must be willing to take part in an on-call rotation, supporting weekday, week-end and after-hours. ACMS and DCL experience is not required but highly desirable (a plus). JCC database replication experience not required but desirable. Apache Tomcat experience is not required but desirable. Java JDK (8.0) for OpenVMS Integrity experience is not required but desirable. • As a Senior RDB Database Administrator you will play a significant role in the design, implementation and maintenance of production databases. You will be responsible for monitoring daily database activities and overall performance, growth and tuning configurations as well as the security of the database. • You will be a self-starter and will be required to cover after-hours/weekend on-call rotations in addition to standard work hours. • Assume primary ownership for the build, data management, access and permissions and roles requests submitted and work with the application team and manager on prioritization. • Implement and support Administration tasks such as backup and recovery procedures, database utilities, and data replication technologies for both production and non-production environments. • Interact with development and business resources to determine application data access requirements, transaction rates, volume analysis, and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated development databases • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to application software development engineering teams for Oracle Rdb related issues. • Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. • Assist data modeling to design and implement data structures which meet the business requirement for timely and accurate data. • Interact with the enterprise security team to ensure compliance with database security requirements. • Log, schedule and track all changes using change management system tools. • Responsible for all corrections to the database infrastructure and for repairs, maintenance and periodic reorganization of OpenVMS Rdb databases. • Implement annual What skills/attributes are nice to have?
