Position Summary Provide technical and administrative support for Linux systems in a Xen virtualized environment. Perform system upgrades, improvements and new systems deployment. Monitor and solve operational problems and issues. Position Responsibilities - Performs Linux Operating System and application software installations, upgrades, and improvement projects on physical and virtual server infrastructure to meet business goals. Includes designing implementing and maintaining Linux systems use for Intranet and Intranet websites. 30% of effort - Performs installation, configuration, optimization, and monitoring of firewalls, load balancers, and networking equipment used to deliver web based software solution for Intranet and Internet websites. 20% of effort. - Monitor individual and enterprise-wide systems performance. Independently initiate research and troubleshooting steps to address deficiencies or anomalies. 25% of effort. - Participates in the on-going analysis and remediation of security vulnerabilities. 10% of effort. - Participates in on-call support activities to monitor operational status of systems. Includes receiving and responding to text messages and/or emails 24/7/365. 10% of effort. - Other duties as assigned. 5% of effort Position Requirements Education - BA/BS Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. - RedHat RHCE Certification - Citrix XenServer or Virtualization certification Experience Two to five years Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS experience Two to five years Citrix Xen virtual host experience Other Familiar with standard IT department concepts, practices, and procedures.
