The primary responsibility is to provide forensics expertise and capabilities. The Security Engineer will operate in the following areas: Forensic malware analysis of systems, incident response, e-Discovery and investigations. This role will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for incident response and forensics. Job Responsibilities: Assist in the response to security incidents and escalations including o Detection of infiltration locations and methods o Analysis to determine point of origin for infiltrations and incidents o Determination of and execution of remediation tasks Provide SME guidance to the security team on incident analysis, root cause analysis and problem resolution Develop and improve malware analysis and forensic processes as required Collect, preserve and analyze data and information as required for e-Discovery, internal investigations or events Understand and maintain chain-of-custody as necessary in preserving evidence Perform forensics on a on devices including computers, hard drives, USB drives, smartphones and tablets Follow company policies and procedures on incident management, malware analysis, forensics analysis and used of information security tools and information Use of forensics and analysis tools to collect evidence and conduct incident response and investigations Collect and analyze network data through packet capture techniques Appropriate escalation of problems and issues to Amgen staff and management Maintain current knowledge of information security trends, threats and responses Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or the Life Sciences GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) certification 2+ years experience in an information security engineer role (staff or contract) for a large corporation or one of the big four consulting leading digital forensic investigations Experience and expertise in hands-on utilization of forensics and analysis tools including EnCase, FTK, Helix, Wireshark, etc Extensive information security knowledge and experience Must be highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision. Must be team-oriented, placing priority on quality and the successful completion of team goals Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or the Life Sciences Familiarity with the following technologies: Active Directory, Virtualization platforms, Microsoft Windows, Unix, Linux, Mac OS X, LDAP, Active Directory, 802.11 wireless, firewalls, routers, network protocols and architecture, databases, IDS/IPS Experience with information security best practices and security frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, COBIT, and NIST SP 800 series.
