Both of these modules allow the University to track and manage the nearly $5 billion in extramural support received each year. This information is used extensively by the Universitys 10 campuses and the University of California Office of the President to monitor extramural support and to coordinate relationships between government and private sponsors. Both these modules are closely connected. Changes are required to the REMS system based on a policy change that is in effect July 1, 2013. The Senior Application developer will work with another developer and take direction from a lead. This is a major enhancement to the existing system and requires team work and the ability to quickly grasp the business concepts of the changes required. Skills required: Over 7 years experience with the following components: · J2EE application servers (i.e. WebSphere, JBoss) · J2EE frameworks including Struts and Hibernate · Web technologies including JSP, HTML, CSS, XML, JSTL, jQuery, jQgrid, AJAX, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript · RDBMS (DB2/Oracle/Sybase) design and SQL is required Industry standard development tools, preferably Rational Application Developer A demonstrated understanding of complex, data-driven application development is required. Strong analytical skills as demonstrated by the ability to draw conclusions in a logical, systematic way. Function % Duties Analysis, Design, Program, Test 75 Analyze, design, program, test, install and document the changes. Develop and automate integrations with internal systems. Applications are J2EE compliant Java applications running on multiple application servers with background batch processes written in Java and shell scripting. Plan for iterative delivery to customers for early validation and testing. Prepare unit and system test plans and conduct unit tests and resolve technical issues. Analyze business requirements 25% Analyze business requirements and develop systems solutions expressed through a technical design document to meet the users needs.
