As a member of the Application Engineering & Architecture (AEA) unit, the consultant(s) will undertake duties and responsibilities as a database developer on the AVSRE project and work on highly complex data transformation and conversion scripts The work primarily involves the understanding the current and future data models and providing solutions that are technically feasible, aligned with existing CalPERS enterprise architecture and meets the needs of the business users. Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing analytical work; defining technical requirements; creating or updating existing technical design artifacts for online, batch, report and interface processes, business rules, forms; analyzing data and providing SQL data fixes and database structure changes, and participate in implementation and release communication activities. Consultant responsibilities also include ensuring that all work performed under this agreement will comply with CalPERS Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Consultant support activities include providing solutions to the business problems, application architecture, application development, implementation, and post-implementation release support; triaging complex technical and infrastructure issues, providing automation assembly, system, End-to-End, and CAT testing support. Consultant is to submit to the contract manager a written monthly status report as part of this agreement and provide knowledge transfer to staff before end of contract. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Refer to RFP 2014-7354, Section IV, Vertical 5.0 for minimum qualifications required for this engagement. Database Developer: Functions at the expert level in creation of Oracle SQL packages , procedures and functions. • Must have five (5) years of experience as working Oracle database version 11g or above. • Must have five (5) years of experience creating parallel PL/SQL procedures, packages and functions • Must have five (5) years of experience writing complex SQL queries on very large database 5TB above • Must have five (5) years of experience creating replication/materialized views that can handle 500M rows • Must have five (5) years of in tuning SQL queries using Tuning Pack, Diagnostics Pack and/or Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) • Must have five (5) years of experience creating database triggers • Must have five (5) years of experience in designing a database from a logical data model • Experience leading projects with multiple resource groups • Strong analytical skills for evaluating business needs and developing innovative solutions • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to work effectively with all levels of technical staff and management DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Oracle Certified professional 11g or above • Experience working with public pension systems and Actuarial Systems. • Experience with Programs functions and processes similar to CalPERS • Strong leadership skills with ability to multi-task, to use tact and to employ good judgment   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
