Specialist (Jobs in Sacramento, CA)   Requirement id 4796 Job title Specialist Job location in Sacramento, CA Skills required Technical Specialist, MCTS Certifications, MS Exchange 2010, Open Date 10-Jun-2011 Close Date Job type Not specified Duration 11 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type ---    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Specialist: Technical Specialist, MCTS Certifications, MS Exchange 2010, [note: PROJECT EFFECTIVE DATES July 18, 2011 through June 1, 2012] PROJECT SCOPE/TASKS The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks: • Develop and design a migration project plan for a Microsoft Exchange 2010 upgrade project using best practice standards. • Design and migrate from current Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment to Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment that utilizes multiple sites, Database Availability Groups (DAG), Microsoft ISA server and IronPort security appliances. • Provide best practice knowledge transfer throughout the entire engagement. • Assist CalPERS in providing best practice knowledge transfer and experience to CalPERS Microsoft Exchange 2010 project team. • Provide technical support / installation / configuration in Microsoft Exchange 2010 servers. • Implement project plan to upgrade/convert older version of Microsoft Exchange 2007 server in a clustered environment to Exchange 2010. • Assist in the development, implementation and execution of internal and industry standards, practices and processes for server hardware and software maintenance and operation. • Provide support for hardware build and configuration. • Provide Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and implementation support using the CalPERS selected tools for this purpose. • Develop and demonstrate hot site replication and active database redirection capabilities of the messaging system. • Train Administrators in the use, maintenance and customization of Exchange. • Document all work completed. • Provide weekly status reports. • Identify key risks and issues and present remediation steps. • Provide knowledge transfer and best practice exposure throughout the engagement to assist in positioning a successful design and migration plan. • Conduct risk assessment of the proposed design and architecture plan and participate in continuing risk management throughout the project. • Conduct a high level review of proposed Service Level Agreements in existing and proposed designs. • Provide technical support for integration of SharePoint Public Folders and Lync instant messaging and presence features. • Conduct post-migration procedures to remove and decommission Exchange 2007 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications: • A minimum of ten years experience in all aspects of computer hardware configuration and maintenance engineering with areas of expertise in system integration, staging testing, installation, clustering, reconfiguration, relocation, and system administration. • Thorough experience in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 installs configuration and migration from Microsoft Exchange server 2007 in an environment of comparable size and complexity. • Accreditation as Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCTIP) • Accreditation as Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) • The candidate must have good oral communication skills. • The candidate must have good written communication skills.
