Job Description : Summary Our client is developing a new system which includes: 1) classes used by Staff, 2) support a mobile tablet application and interface; 3) maintain versioning; 4) query on multi-level planning approaches; 5) enable automated data exchanges (REST services) and multiple user interfaces; 6) support document retrieval through automated data exchanges; and 7) proprietary/be owned by the client (except for any open source software). Functionality supports the workflows of Inspections, Asset Management, and customer service. Description Seeking a Contractor to perform a Quality Assurance (QA) review of the software development both of a data kit and an inspection app. The Contractor performing the QA review will be provided with existing or updated documentation created during development as well as read-only access to the Amazon Web Service (AWS) account where the source codes reside. The QA Review includes identifying gaps in documentation such that qualified individuals but those unfamiliar to the project would be able to get a quick sense of the quality of the software design and related components. Specifically, the QA Review should include: ensuring concise and lightweight yet meaningful commenting of code exists; verification of architecture and data flow diagrams; evaluating cyclomatic complexity reports, suggesting enhancements for the new management system, and identification of any other useful documentation that is considered industry standard for software development. Requirements The Contractor must be familiar with: Amazon Web Services (AWS) AWS Linux PostgreSQL SQL Ruby on Rails JavaScript Xamarin BitBucket GitHub Or show cross-over experience with the ability to quickly learn and perform the QA review. In addition, the Contractor will create documentation describing any suggested maintenance procedures or potential future risks with the existing implementation. The Contractor will educate the group in support of continual improvement of the software. All of these services will include coordination with the infrastructure support vendor(s) and, from the Contractors side, effective project management in alignment with a defined Project Planning and Management (PPM) process. Deliverables The Contractor must create a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for the software that our client can refer to when new features are added. This plan should be designed with consideration of existing tools and staff capability. The Contractor will make improvements with documentation based on the needs identified within the group. These needs will be determined by regular meetings. The Contractor shall maintain a Lessons Learned document, updating it subsequent to each release, and as required by PPM process. The Contractor shall disseminate lessons learned to the team after each release and make recommendations as appropriate to increase the quality of future deliverables and improve reliability and efficiency of systems.
