Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Requires a bachelors degree in area of specialty and at least 5-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Resource will be working primarily with Scout Application (Scout uses SNMP protocol to communicate with cable modems/STB’s to collect information about the health of those devices and communicates that back to Comcast) doing work on Java/Web Services (REST). Needs to have strong Java skills. Data store is HBase so if the developer knows how to interact with HBase that’s a plus. CE will be maintaining user / client initiated requests to make changes to existing Java Services. Later in the year, this person could be assisting in rewriting these services in Microservices and migrating them to Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
