Provide in-house GIS support in the production of the County General Highway Map series. Provide in-house GIS support in the production of other geospatial products such as custom maps, web maps, creating and maintaining geographic data. Perform quality assurance and quality control workflows in support of the GIS Program products and services. Assist with defining customers data needs, project requirements, and required deliverables. Provide GIS technical support to customers of the GIS Program in coordination with GIS Program Supervisor or Project Manager. Perform other technical assignments needed to support the GIS Program. These assignments include but are not limited to: copyright registration, data distribution, map scanning and archiving, field inventory, and writing technical reports or workflow documentation. WORK TASKS TO BE PERFORMED Task 1 – County General Highway Map Series support County General Highway Map support tasks will be assigned and coordinated by the GIS Program Supervisor or Project Manager. The specific authorized duties include: 1. Complete all County Map tasks within established requirements, standards, and workflows as stated in the Handbook for Preparing County General Highway Maps and the County Map (CMG) Technical Manual. 2. Performing QA/QC tasks following the guidelines established in the GIS/CADD Services Quality Assurance Plan (QA Plan) and the Handbook for Preparing County General Highway Maps. Task 2 – Production of Geospatial Products support Develop other geospatial products as necessary to support Department of Transportation (DOT) offices, state agencies, and other external customers using GIS and CADD mapping programs. Perform the necessary tasks to complete other assigned GIS Program projects. Project requirements, project specific standards, and timelines will be developed and documented on a project by project basis with Supervisor or Project Manager. The specific authorized duties include: 1. Provide modifications and enhancements to existing products as necessary, these include applications. Test products before deployment to ensure minimal user interruption. These applications include but are not limited to My Florida Transportation Map application and the Bicycle Friendly Roads application. 2. Ensure that all products meet customer needs. Any applications must be running efficiently for appropriate staff to be able to utilize them. 3. Assist with the development and support of new products or applications as necessary, these products include but are not limited to custom maps, tools, web maps, geographic data, and applications. 4. Assist with the documentation of workflows and metadata for existing and/or new products. Task 3 – Technical SupportTasks will be assigned and coordinated by the GIS Program Manager, Supervisor or Project Manager. The specific authorized duties include: 1. Provide assistance to FDOT staff with the use of the ArcGIS Platform and other GIS Tools. 5 Education Associates or Bachelors Degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience 1. Experience with ArcGIS for Desktop and Extensions. 2. Experience with ArcGIS Online. 3. Experience with ArcGIS Pro. 4.
