Minimum Education & Experience Requirements • Bachelors degree • One (1) year of related work experience • Equivalent combination of more than two years of work experience, training and/or education Duties & Responsibilities • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University • Research, design, implement, and maintain applications (including web and mobile), systems, programs, and interfaces • Conduct tests of applications programs and quality assurance reviews • Compile test and review results for further review and user acceptance testing by the business analyst and functional user(s) • Identify areas for modification/enhancement in existing applications and subsequently develop these modifications • Write and maintain software code, queries, reports, and programs applications using current tools and languages • Apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues • Provide consultation to technical resources regarding upgrades, appropriate usage and the technical environment; monitor version requirements and organize upgrades • Consult with business analysts, and if appropriate functional users, to analyze requirements, recommend technical design and specifications, and clarify work requests and implementation plans • Develop technical specifications after reviewing provided functional specifications and analyzing user application programming requests • Prepare technical, operational and user related documentation in support of applications • Provide technical support and training to functional users • May be assigned as the technical expert for a specific technology or software system like workflow, document imaging and management, integration services, data warehouse, Student Information System (Banner), or job scheduling • Understand high-level architectural design and patterns • Respond to troubleshoot application and system problems Professional Knowledge, Skill & Abilities • Exhibit engaging customer service • Ability to work well in a diverse environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated organizational and human relation skills • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications • Understanding of procedures and willingness to follow University policies to meet institutional goals • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support Universitys mission for student success • Solid understanding and demonstrated experience using common web development languages and frameworks such Python/Django/Flask • Experience working with web, application and database servers, such as Apache, Nginx, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle • Git or other distributed version control systems • Experience integrating open source and commercial systems using APIs and REST web services • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops • Knowledge of database design and associated software/programming languages • Proven agility and experience with operating systems for PC and Mac • Knowledge of Network Administration: Novell, TCP/IP, file sharing and FT • Experience with managing and maintaining virtual servers on VMware vCenter Infrastructure and Public IaaS • Passionate, honest, positive, mission-driven, and self-   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
