In addition, this role will assist with other data exchange projects at the Iowa Department of Public Health involving both internal and external customers. • Oversees daily operations for electronic laboratory reporting for infectious & communicable disease and environmental health condition surveillance. • Monitors system-wide electronic laboratory reporting traffic, identifies potential issues, investigates and facilitates resolution of identified issues. • Consults and troubleshoots potential connectivity issues with data sharing partners across the State of Iowa in collaboration with CyncHealth. • Provides end user support and training for the smartLab system and the HL7 messaging protocol. • Extracts and analyzes data to ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency, and transform raw data into meaningful, actionable information using MS SQL Server Management Studio, MS Excel or Google Sheets. • Monitors dashboards and data reports in Tableau and creates tools in MS Excel by using pivot tables and Excel formulas such as VLOOKUP. • Develops stored procedures and functions using MS SQL Server Management Studio for data extraction and validation to support electronic exchange of any nationally notifiable disease - health limited data set to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). • Provides technical support to the Iowa Surveillance and Electronic Exchange team and surveillance programs in various ways as projects arise such as data extraction, analysis and reporting using various tools like MS Excel and MS SQL Server Management Studio. • Creates smartLab portals and user accounts, maintains and updates the MS Access database containing contact information for ELR data providers and their associated stage in ELR participation. • Participates in weekly team meetings and quarterly CDC calls, and provides status updates.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
