Client is expecting to augment current (internal) staffing on this project with the assistance of experienced vendor resources. It is expected that we will need assistance from an experienced SQL Server DBA who can aid in the review of currently developed ETL and database transactions to insure that we are sufficiently tuning our systems and that our models follow best practices. We will need the assistance of an experienced ETL developer to aid in the development of new ETL and modify current ETL rules and code to bring new data into the warehouse from the Universities core ERP system. This ETL developer would be expected to help structure the data schema (facts and dimensions) to meet the needs of proposed reporting. We will need the assistance of an experience BI (report developer) resource to aid Boise State in developing reporting standards as well as building requested reports as part of the project. The solution currently in progress is being developed on the Microsoft Business Intelligence Technology Stack. The technologies currently being utilized within that stack are SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS. Reports developed against the warehouse are to be deployed through Microsoft SharePoint. The goal at the end of the project is to have a system that can be leveraged by the entire organization and provides a platform that the client can leverage long term for business analytics. Responsibilities: * Review of current ETL practices and data base processes – Outcome of activity would be a detailed analysis of our current system and recommended changes. It would be expected that those recommendations would come with standards and a plan to implement and help improve our current environment. * Performance Tuning – Outcome of activity would be the implementation of recommendations from item 1, but also the review of items in development to insure that we are building with optimization in mind. * ETL Development – Outcome is the successful development and deployment of assigned ETL components of the various requests. This development will have passed unit and functional testing and be fully deployed in production to be considered complete. * Report and Dashboard Development – Outcome is the successful development and deployment of assigned reports through Microsoft Reporting Services. This development will have passed unit and functional testing and be fully deployed in production to be considered complete. * Training of Current Staff – Perform Knowledge Transfer and Training of internal University staff to support SharePoint ongoing. * Documentation – Documentation should be provided for all work completed in the project. * Post Go-Live Support – As needed some support may be needed in the weeks following go-live of the solutions.
