The primary responsibility of the position is to understand, support and enhance the clients application environment, including upgrading proprietary applications and integrating data with external vendor platforms. As a team member with subject matter expertise, the Senior Application Developer will be an active member in the full life cycle of the delivery of solutions. This may include development, implementation, testing and supporting the solution. In addition, the individual must be committed to sharing knowledge and proactively working to foresee and avoid possible single points of failure within the team and the IT organization. TECHNICAL SKILLS: -5+ years of experience with C# and .Net framework -5+ years of experience developing application with core Microsoft technologies (Microsoft SQL Server, Stored procedures, SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services). -5+ years of experience with Batch management tools such as Tivoli Work Scheduler (TWS) -Scripting: PowerShell, Perl a plus -SharePoint: Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration technologies a plus: o SharePoint workflow, designer and security framework o Configuration of document libraries, lists, and WSS site collections o SharePoint applications at the enterprise level in a distributed global environment. o Experience with K2 Blackpearl workflows ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are generally representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. -Work on all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Requirements, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, and Post-rollout support -Build sound technical solutions to meet user requirements -Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives -Produce high-quality batch, database and application code in accordance with established company standards and development guidelines. -Develop and execute quality assurance routines to ensure quality of software -Monitor support requests received throughout the day to ensure that all critical items are addressed -Resolve business-technology issues that impact Production processes and system availability -Take ownership for the resolution of technical issues for assigned third-party vendor applications -Plan, test, and deploy bug fix, enhancement, and upgrade software releases -Support creation of detailed project plans, and help monitor and report on project progress -Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns -Establish and maintain strong relationships with business users, and develop a deep understanding of their business and technical requirements -Create appropriate documentation and provide end user training as necessary QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
