The ideal candidate will have at least five years of full-time experience working with the Microsoft SQL Server BI Suite, to include SSRS, SSAS and SSIS; strong written and oral communications skills; the ability to work within a team environment; and the desire and ability to learn new techniques, procedures and applications. The candidate will engage in new development along with maintaining existing reporting systems. The position requires a balance of technical knowledge of infrastructure deployments; extensive experience developing data reports, cubes and dashboards; as well as strong project and task management. Responsibilities • This is a Microsoft SSRS development role largely responsible for creating, maintaining, deploying and managing cubes and reports for internal analytic teams and our law enforcement stakeholders. Candidates will work collaboratively with IT staff, analysts and stakeholders to create, maintain, and support SSRS reports in a compliant, regulated environment. • This individual is responsible for understanding data, aggregating data, analyzing data, building cubes, generating SQL views and procedures, generating reports and dashboards, data governance, and performing quality assurance testing to ensure the data presented is correct. • Develop, maintain and support SQL statements, stored procedures, views and SSIS packages. • Develop and maintain operating procedures and support documentation for reports and the SSRS infrastructure. • Develop blended business intelligence reports, data models and dashboards using data from our major business systems • Proactively engage on continuous improvement efforts for SSRS reports and their operation. • Provide administrative support and fulfilment of service requests for reports, acting as the primary escalation point for the Bureau. • Provide database administration support during deployments and migrations. • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues (e.g., database outages, application performance, integrity, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity, security issues, etc.) • Monitor and tune database performance as well as optimize SQL queries. • Mentor others on a wide range of database and analytic techniques. Qualifications • Four-year degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server BI Suite (primarily SSRS and SSAS). • SQL Server 2012-2017 (emphasis on SQL 2017); proficiency in SSRS, SSAS, SSIS. • Proficiency in Power BI and Visual Studio. • Experience developing sophisticated SSRS reports against complex data sets. • Experience installing, administering, and maintaining MS SQL Server and SSRS infrastructure. • Ability to define systemic requirements for reports to ensure maintainability and perform acceptance testing. • Experience diagnosing and resolving errors in complex reports. • Must have a firm grasp of BI implementation methodologies and must have in-depth experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (SQL Development, Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS). • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUPS. • Working knowledge of report development and ETL technologies such as SSIS will be   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
