Description:

The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) will assist the Program Manager/Director of Modernization in developing a Strategic Program Plan to complete delivery of implementation and optimization of the HASTUS suite, a route, and personnel scheduling and tracking platform for the transit industry. The DPM will develop and manage the overall Program schedule, track all workstreams and milestones, track and analyze Program risks and issues, manage program communications, manage program success criteria and metric development, and report on all DPM tasks.
The DPM will also assist the Program Manager with planning, tracking, and execution of all team tasks and oversee work production and coordination between functional and project teams.
This position will perform the following activities and examples, as well as other related tasks as the needs arise.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A critical part of this role is the ability to influence and get collaborative alignment from cross-functional teams. The DPM will monitor team tasks and performance.
The DPM is expected to maintain clear communication of project updates with the Program Manager, Functional Team and technical teams. Therefore, candidates must be able to present, communicate and discuss complex projects with diverse groups of constituents via internal and external communications plans, and public/stakeholder meetings. The DPM will lead the production of various Program communications including communications to Program Leadership (example: Steering Committee dashboard) and Program delivery communications (example: end-user training materials).
Develop communications and presentations to provide updates, milestones, accomplishments, and risks related to Modernization initiatives and projects.
Lead the implementation of goals, priorities, and strategic initiatives for Modernization projects.
Establish, manage and achieve Program performance metrics and lead analysis of tracked performance and feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Identify, track, communicate risks and develop/manage risk mitigation strategies for all program risks.
Build and maintain the Program Master Schedule to track all Program workstreams, activities, milestones, and associated dates.
Direct, develop and manage a team of employees dedicated to the supervision and execution of the mission as defined by management.
Uphold the rights and interests ofthe Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with all contractors supporting the Program.
Provide on-site coverage and leadership while the Program Manager attends off-site meetings.
Perform related duties and projects as assigned.
Work any and all shifts and / or locations as assigned or directed. This may include shifts outside of regular working hours starting early morning, finishing late night and weekend shifts. An 8 hours shift may be anytime within 24 hours of a day.
Contractors are expected to work (NO TIME OFF) during Pick times which are between 4/25 till 6/1 and 7/10 till 8/14, not to exceed the 40 hours in a week.
Work at various MBTA locations within 15 miles radius from Boston. This may involve traveling by train or vehicle to various locations (*).
Uphold the rights and interests ofthe Authority while building and maintaining effective relationships with employees.
Perform related duties and projects as assigned and report on status.
Please note that MBTA will NOT facilitate or provide any transportation or allowance/T-Pass.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
