Through MHC, Maryland residents explore health insurance plans, compare rates, and determine their eligibility for advanced premium tax credits (APTC), cost sharing reductions (CSR) and public assistance programs such as Medicaid and the Maryland Childrens Health Insurance Program (MCHP). MHBE seeks up to one (1) Senior Database Management Specialists to provide highly technical expertise and support in the use of Database Management System (DBMS). Duties / Responsibilities Perform PostgreSQL Server database administration, manage role based (RBAC) user accounts and system accounts, patch Management and maintain Replication/DR Environment. Perform Database migration for PostgreSQL and Mongo DB databases between various environments, including between data centers and cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Monitor all production database activity for operational improvements to include CPU, Disk and memory utilization, space utilization. Evaluate and Perform security hardening on PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases including configurations related to access control, authorizations, OS(Linux) Configuration parameters, file system encryption. Evaluate Security infractions and overall performance of databases to develop and implement corrective measures for database issues/problems found during monitoring. Analyze performance issues in the application and database tiers. Perform disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing backup/restore. Maintain Replication/DR Environment of Postgres Hands on maintenance activities such as vacuum, full vacuum, analyze the PostgreSQL Database. Perform database server maintenance, including upgrades of PostgreSQL Database, storage management of PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Perform Installation and maintenance of MongoDB database for high availability. Tune SQL queries for optimal performance on PostgreSQL, create and manage indices. Tune No SQL queries on MongoDB and create/manage indices. Note: The candidate must have the flexibility to work overtime, as needed, to include weekends, holidays, and off-hours. Minimum Qualifications A minimum of six (6) years of experience in PostgreSQL Server database administration, patch management and maintenance of Replication/DR Environment. A minimum of five (5) years of experience with providing enterprise database solutions and data warehouse management. A minimum of four (4) years of experience monitoring all production database activity for operational improvements to include CPU, Disk, memory utilization, space utilization, security infractions and overall performance of databases. A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience with maintenance activities of PostgreSQL Database such as Vacuum, Full Vacuum, analysis in production and lower environments. A minimum of four (4) years of experience maintaining Replication/DR Environment of Postgres including patches and upgrades of PostgreSQL Database. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Installation and maintenance of MongoDB for high availability; designing MongoDB multi-shaded cluster and monitoring with Ops Manager. A minimum of four (3) years of experience in large volume database migration between data centers and cloud environments using custom or commercial products and protocols.
