Clients are typically Fortune 500 companies with business critical, production eCommerce systems. Technical implementations could include: Physical and Virtual Server builds; HP; Cisco UCS; VMware, KVM; OS installations; Linux (primarily RedHat); Application and Web Server installations, configuration and support; ATG; JBoss; Apache. Minimal Qualifications The following are considered minimal qualifications for all consulting roles: A minimum 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field or work experience equivalent, Past consulting experience as the individual will often be acting in a consulting role and as a technical advisor, A willingness to perform some level of travel to customer locations 10% A willingness to learn new technologies and their applications in the enterprise. The ability to quickly understand and be able to articulate business impacts of technical decisions and drive solutions to specific business problems through the effective use of technology. The ability to prepare technical reports, client presentations, design documentation, and manuals. Required Skills and Experience 5+ years UNIX/Linux Systems Administration experience Physical system experience (rack/stack, cabling, hard drive replacement, hardware upgrades) OS installation tools (kickstart, jumpstart) Scripting skills (Perl, Python, shell) Web server experience (Apache, iPlanet, IIS) Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking Working knowledge of HA concepts (load balancing, clustering) Working knowledge of computer virtualization Excellent communication skills Strong willingness to learn and take on technical challenges beyond current skill level.
