The system is comprised of multiple environments. Skills: ? A minimum of 6-8 years experience administering 20+ Microsoft SQL Server 2008 production databases. ?Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008 Advanced Server. Expert knowledge in the following areas of SQL Server: Clustering, Installation, Log Shipping, Backup/Restore with native and 3rd party tools, Security administration, Ability to identify and solve database errors or performance bottlenecks, SQL Agent. Strong knowledge in the following areas: o Knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures and DMVs is a must o Very large database (> 1TB) experience o SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services o Analytical and problem solving skills o Transactional replication o Service Broker o Table Partitioning o PowerShell o Interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, time management, and conflict resolution o Formal change management processes Responsibilities: ? Implement and administer SQL Server for high availability; specifically using Windows Clustering and log shipping technologies. ? Monitor operational databases for system health including collection and analysis of counters and statistics using various tools. ? Troubleshoot production issues and bring them to resolution following established incident/change/problem management procedures and architectural guidelines ? Manage database security and integrity controls ? Provide tuning enhancements and recommend design improvements ? Create and maintain operational documentation ? Enforce access guidelines and best practices ? Apply SQL Server patches when security vulnerabilities are identified ? Create/maintain stored procedures, scheduled jobs, and PowerShell scripts ?
