They are assigned to extremely complex and/or high-risk projects that reflect the highest priorities of state government. Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop, Maintain, Coordinate, Align, and Report on the Project Management Plans • Coordinate, Align and Manage the Overall Project Work Plan • Develop, Review, Comment, and Report on Project Artifacts • The Contractor is expected to provide a high level of engagement throughout the project from start to finish; be proactive, not passive or reactive; actively help identify and track risks and issues, recommend and implement actions to mitigate risks and issues, not just report on problems • Fully engage in early project stages of each project for advising, planning, and assisting in a cohesive implementation consistent with the strategic vision • Provide regular planning and activity tracking across projects applying corrective/preventative actions as needed to stay on schedule; and assist with the testing planning, review, environment preparations, and oversight throughout the project life cycle. • Collaborate with the team and provide hands-on work on Request for Proposals (RFPs) for different phases/modules of the Modernization Program. • Daily interaction with the project management team and the Project Director toward DWC program modernization. • Managing risk and issue logs • Facilitate the development of project scope definitions, manage the deliverable review process and maintain the project web site. • Support Project Director with control and monitoring of a large program by focusing on specific work streams, and other duties as assigned. • Strong writing skills and experience in developing a variety of written products. Proven customer management skills. Skill Set Desired: • At least 8 years of experience in the role of Project Manager. • Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP) • Highly proficient in Microsoft Project applications • Full project management of various specific work stream initiatives within a technology modernization including planning, tracking, managing, collaborating, and coordinating the execution of initiatives • Working to create a positive and productive environment for all project team members and stakeholders that values cooperation, teamwork, and planning; ensuring effective and timely communications and sharing of information; • Managing project schedules and provide accurate timelines; • Identification, communication, and management of project risks and issues; • Assessing and analyzing project health; • Preparing project status reports; • RFP writing experience • Knowledge of the workers compensation industry and a good understanding of traditional and new technologies • Hands-on experience in government workers compensation System Modernization with other states and process improvement is a huge plus.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
