The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) Transportation is seeking a GIS Specialist contractor for an approximate 12-month engagement. The position will be assigned to the GIS Unit to specifically provide GIS support to the NCDOT Transportation Planning Department. This position will perform GIS analysis, GIS transportation modeling, develop and interpret pythons scripting, implement GIS data management, and implement GIS data dissemination solutions. The NCDOT requires GIS maintenance and enhancement support for the Comprehensive Transportation Plans (CTP). This includes all aspects of the division functions for long-range, multi-modal transportation plans developed cooperatively with local planning organizations, and representatives from the county and its municipalities. GIS is an integral part of these functions, in which GIS services are required to coordinate and integrate with external and internal partners.
